| | Description | Why buy an expensive headset just for your Cisco office phone? Use the Headset Buddy Adapter and your existing computer headset with Cisco-based phones that have a headset jack. (will not work with the handset jack)
A big productivity enhancer for home businesses, call centers, sales people,or anyone who is on the phone all the time, but doesn't want to buy two headsets, one for the computer, and one for the phone.
Specs: This amazing adaptor converts the standard headset 3.5mm mic/audio plugs to a standard RJ9, RJ10, or RJ22 4P4C Cisco headset plug, allowing you to use your favorite computer/laptop headset with your Cisco-based office phone. Will not work with the handset jack. Outputs binaural sound for stereo headsets, meaning you will hear sound out of both ears.
Does not work with RJ11 jack, which is wider than your handset or headset jack (6 positions vs. 4). RJ11 jack is what is in the wall. RJ9, RJ10, RJ22 are what is on your phone handset or headset.
Does not work with standard phones, handset jack, Nortel, Aastra, and many other brands. Please see other Headset Buddy model 01-PC35-RJ9 that works with most phones.
Example Compatible Phones:
This list is not all inclusive. Please look up the specifications on your specific phone to see if it has a RJ9, RJ10, or RJ22 headset jack.

Can be used for Polycom phones as well Nov 30, 2010
By A. Rublinetsky I was able to use this cable for Polycom phone as well. Polycom phones use different wiring, but by connecting microphone jack to green connector and headphone jack to pink connector (which is reverse from how it is labeled) it was possible to use this cable on Polycom.

I'm sure this adapter works great on a Cisco phone. Apr 12, 2012
By Scott W As the title states, I'm sure this adapter works great on a Cisco phone. Unfortunately, the compatibility list is not very long so I was forced to use the trial and error method. I ended up purchasing the model adjacent to this one (labeled "most compatible") and it works great on the Polycom Soundpoint IP phones (confirmed on the IP450 and IP550). I was able to make the Cisco version work, however as the other reviewers have stated, the green and pink have to be flip flopped, and that configuration only works when connected to the handset jack, not the headset jack. When connected to the headset jack, I could hear other people just fine, but they could not hear me.

don't just go by the color on the connector (green/pink) Jun 16, 2011
By Brandy L. When I plugged the Green to Green and Pink to Pink connection it wouldn't work. So I decided to flip them and plug the connections in opposite pink to green and green to pink to test it out it worked great. Sometimes you have to be smarter than the color code these inexpensive device instructions say.
Works fantasticly for Cisco 7941 series phones May 15, 2012
By Kathy Kult I needed to buy a new binaural headset for my Cisco phone at work, but could only find headphones that were over $150 (because all I could find was a Platronics binaural headset which also needed an amplifier or special connector in order to connect to the Cisco phone), which is a ridiculous price for a phone headset. I decided to try the Headset Buddy Adapter with an older binaural headset I had at home that had the dual 3.5mm plugs instead... and it works great. In fact, it works MUCH BETTER than my original Cisco headset.
Works well, only if you flip the two plugs. May 01, 2012

Works well, only after I figured out that the color coding for the 2 plugs are wrong. The Green plug with the picture of a headset actually did not produce any sound. When I plugged the handset into the pink plug labeled with the mic sign worked.
