Description

Why buy another headset for your Xbox 360 when you already have a PC gaming headset? With the Headset Buddy you can use your existing PC computer headset that has 3.5mm mic/audio plugs with your Xbox 360 controller that has a 2.5mm jack. Go get your game on!

If you pair the Headset Buddy with a 2M/1F Y-splitter (sold seperately), connect the other end of the splitter into your stereo or TV, you can hear game sound as well as chat sound. We offer an Xbox 360 bundle on our website TheHeadsetBuddy.com.

Specs: This amazing headset adaptor converts the dual headset 3.5mm plugs to to a standard single 2.5mm phone plug, allowing you to use your favorite gaming headset with your Xbox 360. Puts out binaural sound, meaning if you have a stereo headset you'll hear sound in both ears.

Xbox 360 controller only outputs chat sound. For game sound you will need our adapter kit on TheHeadsetBuddy.com to connect game sound from your TV or receiver.

Compatible Models:

Xbox 360 - OEM wireless or wired controllers

Any phone with a 2.5mm jack

4Works with My Unusual Sound Setup  May 05, 2011 By Gene Montgomery
I purchased this device for use with the Ear Force DSS 7.1 Channel Dolby Surround Sound Processor. I also use the Mackie 802-VLZ3 8-Ch. Compact Recording/SR Mixer, an Audio Technica ATR-3350 Lavalier Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone (connected to the Mackie mixer, not the microphone input of the Headset Buddy), and Audio Technica ATH-AD700 Open-air Dynamic Audiophile Headphones with my setup. Instead of explaining how everything is connected, it would be best to view the diagram that I added to the product information (hopefully it appears). With my setup I can control the volume of other users' voices in relation to game sounds (with the Xbox 360 set to output to "headset").

The product works fine. However, the "genuine" Xbox 360 wired controller I was using produced noise through the Headset Buddy. I replaced the Microsoft one with a GameStop model, and the problem went away. Users with wireless Xbox 360 controllers should experience no noise issues with this device.

Please note that some microphones may not work connected directly to the Headset Buddy due to impedance mismatch. Also note that the headphone output of this device only sends chat voices; for game sounds you'll need a device such as the aforementioned Ear Force DSS 7.1.

5Great Product  Mar 04, 2011 By RickS
While this product is listed as an Xbox PC Headset adapter I purchased several of these to connect a regular PC headset to standard cordless phones. So this adapter connects the two separate 3.5mm mic and earphone jacks of the PC headset to a single 2.5mm plug to plug into a phone. I don't have an Xbox but I assume the Xbox has a 2.5mm headset jack. You should experience similar results as I did with the phone.

Sometimes adapters like this suffer from poor or loose fitting connections and premature breakage of the wires at the plugs and jacks. This adapter works perfectly and is build of high quality workmanship. On this adapter the connections are pleasantly firm. There is no noise or static from loose connections.

Now I can use a higher quality PC headset on my cordless phone with both ears covered to reduce noise. I am probably going to buy more of these and share some with my family.

5For my boys  Jun 05, 2010 By Sonia Lara-lopez "slara"
It was very helpfully getting this accessory. The regular Xbox 360 headsets are not made with quality. It was nice getting a very good headset and using it with the xbox using the accessory. Now the boys are very happy to have a good headset! This accessory was very helpful!

5Xbox 360 Headset Adapter for PC Headsets  Mar 06, 2010 By Laura V. Rosen
Xbox 360 PC Headset Adapter - Use PC Headset with Xbox 360 Live, Dual 3.5mm to 2.5mm

I bought this as a gift for my brother and with this adapter he can use his gaming PC headset with his Xbox 360. He said that gaming PC headsets were easy to find and good quality, whereas Xbox 360 headsets weren't any good. Great product and a great price. He did say that he can only get chat sound, but that is the way the Xbox 360 was designed.

1Wish It Worked  Jul 27, 2010 By security99
This product did not work as advertised. The 3.5mm jacks fit securely, but the connector that plugs into the xbox remote wiggles around and does not make contact properly. I get static when it connects and disconnects, so instead of playing my games with my friends, I end up saying "Can you hear me, can you hear me." over and over. I went back to the OEM xbox 360 headset since it actually works, just isn't comfortable.
